Under the theme “Agriculture and Health: Alliance for Equity and
Rural Development in the Americas,” RIMSA - Inter-American
Meeting at Ministerial Level on Health and Agriculture will have its
15th edition in Brazil, in the city of Rio de Janeiro, June 11-12,
2008.
Prior to RIMSA, the 11th Meeting of the Hemispheric Committee for the Eradication of Foot-and-
Mouth Disease (COHEFA 11) and the 5th Meeting of the Pan-American Commission on Food
Safety (COPAIA 5), will also be held at the same location on June 9 and June 10, respectively.
The RIMSA in Rio de Janeiro is being organized under the leadership of the Pan-American Foot-and-Mouth Disease Center (PANAFTOSA) of the Pan-American Health Organization/World
Health Organization (PAHO/WHO), jointly with the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) and with the support of the Brazilian Government through Ministries of Health, Agriculture, Livestock and Supply and External Relations.
